The Centre of Economic and Management Research (CEM Romania) came into being in 2004 at Targoviste, as a not-for-profit organization. It has as the primary objectives the scientific research, consultancy and exchange of good practice in the field of management. Most of the members are managers but there are also university professors and PhD. Students.
The activities and projects developed are focused on the Romania's post-adhesion issues, mainly on those involving the small and medium-sized enterprises – a segment which is in full swing within the Romanian economy. Because the free circulation of products/services in EU generates serious challenges for the Romanian managers, the respective center’s main target is the insertion within the business environment.
Starting from the detailed knowledge of the Romanian organizations problems, our intention is that of enhancing the exchange of experience and good practice to professional associations and centers of management research from Europe and from all over the world.
It is worth mentioning the fervent activity of the CEM members as well as its associates, the continuous training by the means of scholarships/mobilities with European research centers and laboratories ( CEM has bilateral agreements with more than 25 centres in Europe).
